On August 8th, the 25,900 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker No.3 co-developed by SC Shipping and China Merchants Industry Group Yangzhou Dingheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. ("Yangzhou Dingheng") was successfully launched at Yangzhou Dingheng's Nanjing branch. Guests attending the ceremony included WU Guirong, Executive Deputy General Manager of Gentco Logistics and General Manager of SC Shipping; XIONG Dengpan, Party Secretary and General Manager of Yangzhou Dingheng; representatives of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); and other attendees.
The ceremony signifies the vessel's official entry into the mooring trial phase, establishing a robust foundation for subsequent sea trials and final delivery. As a significant move by SC Shipping to align with the green shipping trend, the 25,900 DWT series vessels boast a combination of environmental and intelligent features: bearing smart ship class notations, they are fitted with fuel-efficient propulsion systems that comply with IMO Tier III emission standards, and are designed with provisions for future methanol fuel propulsion upgrades — further highlighting their exceptional market competitiveness in the context of green and smart shipping.
