News Release On September 4‑5, 2026, SC SHIPPING jointly hosted a specialized seminar with strategic partner JOKOMO in Yangon, Myanmar, under the theme “ONE FLEET, ONE MISSION, ALL SAFE VOYAGES”. A total of 45 outstanding Myanmar seafarers and 7 shore‑based management representatives from SC SHIPPING and JOKOMO attended the event. In‑depth exchanges were conducted covering vessel safety control, seafarer competency development, corporate development planning and typical maritime case studies, consolidating bilateral cooperation and building consensus for fleet safety development.
Tailored for real‑world shipboard operations, the seminar delivered professional sessions including corporate development strategy, crew management & career pathway, safety‑culture promotion, special‑operation permit administration, risk assessment, LOTO (Lock‑Out / Tag‑Out) discipline and deck maintenance management, combining theoretical guidance with practical seafaring reference.
Group case study sessions focused on three high‑risk maritime scenarios: casualties during confined‑space entry, significant near‑miss incidents caused by non‑compliant aloft work, and improper PPE wearing during combined pilot‑ladder deployment. Divided into six groups, seafarers drew on their on‑board experience to analyze human‑factor failures from perspectives of Master, Chief Officer, OOW, Bosun, AB and cadets, explored root causes and worked out targeted corrective & preventive measures. Each group presented its PPT deliverables followed by Q&A sessions, integrating front‑line seafarer experience with corporate safety management systems.
Against intensified global shipping competition, safety compliance and competent seafarers stand as core drivers for high‑quality shipping development. SC SHIPPING regards seafarers as the No.1 core for safe fleet operation. The company keeps improving full‑cycle crew training and transparent career progression channels to support seafarer growth. At the closing of the event, Tang Yupeng, Fleet Director, and Mr. Koko, General Manager of Jokomo, presented awards to 11 seafarers with over five years of service, recognizing their dedication to duties at SC SHIPPING and commitment to growing alongside the company.
The two-day Myanmar Yangon Seafarer Seminar has come to a successful close. As the company’s first on-site overseas seafarer seminar, this event carries far-reaching significance.
