In the 33,000 ton "SCMERCURY" oil tanker under the "Junzheng" enterprise, the work environment is undoubtedly unfamiliar. As the months go by, gradually I became dependent on the people around me. Knew each other's brothers on our ship. There is no denying that when we come to a boat, we are a big family. While working, life is also closely related. In our work, we are rigorous and serious. It's only done if it's safe. In life, we are mutual help, solidarity and love, is based on the happiness of others in their own happiness. In this way, we can co-create the good atmosphere of our "SCMERCURY".

At work: I ship through the Panama Canal.


SCMERCURY passes through two canals on its one-week circumnavigation of the globe. That is the world famous "Suez Canal" and "Panama Canal". For the Suez Canal, I regret not being there, to feel its beauty, to feel its magnificence. I'm sorry I can't describe it for you. Let's learn more about the Panama Canal.


The Panama Canal is located in the Central American country of Panama. It runs across the Isthmus of Panama and connects the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. It was an important shipping artery, built by the United States, now owned and managed by the Republic of Panama. It is a sluice canal. There are two ways to cross the Panama Canal, the new locks and the old locks. There are six gates running from north to south. Take the first three locks from the Atlantic side. After Gatun Lake, pass through the last three locks into the Pacific Ocean. The length, width and depth of the new gate and the old gate are different. The specific choice of which way to cross the canal depends on the data of the ship.


When I first entered the Panama Canal, the water and the sky were the same, the mountains were green and the water was beautiful.


Both sides of the strait are magnificent. The vegetation was full of life, and then there was a narrow river channel and a gate across it. Across the canal, our ship is divided into four departments: bridge, plate, engine room and cooking department.

The bridge is headed by the captain and two pilots responsible for the precise control of the course, the change of speed, and the depth of the draft and so on. The plate department, headed by the chief officer, is responsible for the installation of the traction device, the dissociation of the tug, and the retraction and release of the water ladder, etc. The engine room department is mainly responsible for the operation of various machines and power control. But let's not forget our cooking department, where the crew works seven or eight hours straight without going hungry. And let the Panama pilot see the characteristics of our delicious Chinese food.

In addition; Because the canal is characterized by "medium high and two low" water level situation. The middle lake has a high water level. The water level on both sides is low, so no matter from north to south, or from south to north. Water level rises when entering the sluice and precipitation level when exiting the sluice. Climbing from the valley to the top of the mountain, and then from the top back to the valley, is like a roller coaster, thrilling and exciting.

Most people think of crew life as boring, but not on the SCMERCURY. Like the Spring Festival, we set up Spring Festival activities "number game", "darts competition" and watch "Spring Festival Gala". Like the Lantern Festival, we make dumplings collectively. A bunch of big men make strange and colorful dumplings and finally don't know who to eat into the stomach. On weekdays, we are happy to share, like good movies, novels, we will share with each other. Sometimes the younger ones help the older ones deal with problems on their phones and computers. While the older will teach the young some social knowledge, the crew learn from each other, progress together, the whole ship presents a one for all, all for one attitude of life, everyone is very positive life, upward happiness, become each other's positive energy.
