On May 13th, the naming and delivery ceremony of the fourth
25,900 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker built by Yangzhou Dingheng Shipyard
for SC Shipping was grandly held in Nanjing.
Distinguished guests from all stakeholders gathered to witness this important moment, including Mr. ZANG Yingui, Deputy General Manager of SC Shipping; Mr. XIONG Dengpan, Party Secretary and General Manager of China Merchants Yangzhou Dingheng Shipyard and China Merchants Nanjing Jinling Shipyard; Ms. Gulcenan Didem Ozer, the ship's godmother; Mr. SONG Aimin, General Manager of American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Central China; and Mr. LIANG Zongqing, Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Odely Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.
She noted that "GARNET" embodies the auspicious meanings of prosperity and harvest, solidity and reliability, as well as win-win cooperation through concerted efforts. She also extended her sincere wishes, hoping that SC GARNET would be as robust, durable and brilliant as a garnet, smoothly withstand storms at sea, and that every departure and arrival of the vessel would be safe and sound, adding glorious splendor to SC Shipping.
