From August 28th to 30th, 2024, the 2nd Junior Officer’s Conference was held in SK Tower, Shanghai, with a total of 26 young junior officer participants. In addition, a five-day SSBT and ERS specialized training was arranged before the Conference to solidify the theoretical and practical skills of the officer team.

All participants gathered at the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park，and they have not only enhanced mutual understanding and trust, but also effectively enhanced team cooperation and cohesion, by a series of well-designed team challenges.

Focus on company development and market trends
Mr. Zang Yingui, the Deputy General Manager of SC SHIPPING, elaborated on the current development and operation of the company, emphasized the importance of excellent navigation talents for the Company's long-term development, and encouraged everyone to continuously strengthen their own capabilities and grow up together with the company. Next speaker, Ms. Wang Li, the General manager of Huahe Marine Services, exchanged views with the participants on the latest changes in the crew market, the trends towards specialization and internationalization of crew development，as well as career development. She encouraged everyone to establish professional confidence, actively embrace changes, and constantly improve skills.
The superintendents in charge of different modules of DNV Ship Management System gave lectures on the subjects about system maintenance and management, PMS, PAYROLL, spare and store procurement, etc., and answered the questions encountered by the officers.
Safety first
Strengthen safety awareness Improve emergency response capability
The Conference focused on the company's safety culture. Mr. Li Yongqi, the Senior Manager of the Safety Supervision Department, made a vivid explanation about safety regulations and procedures about Work Permit, Lock-Out & Tag-Out，Entering Enclosed Space, Hot Work，Red and Yellow line, etc., combined with the actual cases of the industry and the Company. It has further enhanced the safety awareness of the crew and the emergency handling ability.
In the case analysis session, the participating crew conducted an in-depth analysis of four typical recent cases of the company's fleet. Each group discussed cause analysis and improvement measures from multiple dimensions and had a representatives to report the results.

In the end, Captain Zhang Yumo, Crew Training Manager, gave a comprehensive summary of the conference. He spoke highly of the results of the Conference and the wonderful performance of the officers and encouraged everyone to continue to strengthen exchanges and learning in the future work, standardize the operation process, and ensure the safety of navigation. At the same time, he also placed high hopes on the crew, looking forward to everyone can work together to contribute to the prosperity and development of the company and even the entire navigation industry.
